ABQjournal: APS Blamed For Failing to Track Money:
A new city audit says Albuquerque Public Schools violated city contracts by failing to properly track the results of city-funded school programs. You hear it here first folks. There's no way to know whether millions of dollars in city subsidies really improved student performance or the dropout rate, according to the city's Office of Internal Audit and Investigations.
But school district spokesman Rigo Chavez said, "It's the city's responsibility to collect the data," with the help of individual schools.
The city, he said, "does not fund a position for program monitoring."
